EVENT GRAPHICS

Inauguration Design

In 2019, Elicio was asked to design the primary graphics for incoming governor Kevin Stitt's inaugural events. Mr. Stitt would be attending events in Lawton and Tulsa and would end with a ball in Oklahoma City the night of the swearing in ceremony.

When we started we were given the panel dimensions and how they functioned, where images would be seen, and given resource images that would be displayed during the events. Below we can see how the screens would be situated in the room and how the center panels would operate when the Governor and First Lady made their entrance (see figure 1).

Side Panel Design

The design was mainly left to us, but one thing our client needed was a different color scheme for all three events: blue for Lawton, magenta for Tulsa, and gray for OKC. Another thing that they insisted on was the inclusion of the three popular Oklahoma icons they used in their promotional material: the scissor-tail flycatcher (state bird), a buffalo (bison), and a Red Bud tree.

Since we wanted to include these icons, we created the side panels first to establish a theme graphic that would be carried through the whole suite of video panels. Because of the significance of the event, we created a nice, gold brush finish that compliment the three event colors. The illustration now creates a beautiful bookend to the suite of panels while allowing plenty of real estate to display photos, titles, or sponsors if desired.

Logo/Photo/Sponsor Panel Design

The theme of Stitt's campaign was "Oklahoma's Turnaround", so for the tall sponsor/photo panels we designed them with plenty of real estate to house the theme graphics as well as photos or titles that needed to be displayed.

Lawton had a unique situation as their "Bison Bash" event space was limited. The side panels wouldn't fit in the room, so these two main panels would populate the stage. These panels could house any information the producers wanted to display, from titles and photos to Gold, Bronze, and Silver sponsor slides.

Main/Center Panel Design

For the main stage design we felt it was perfect for the campaign logo, event logo, and state seal to be the main focus for the audience. Since the lower center panels (or "curtain") separated, this would create an interesting effect for these round icons (below).

OKC PHILHARMONIC

The header panels would use the theme colors, and the displayed titles would use the same font as their invitation and promotional materials. Gold trim is used on all of the panels to create a uniform look.

In the end, we submitted this illustration (below) to show how all of these designs fit together to create a flowing, uniform look that draws the visitor's eyes to what's important - the main stage.

As you can see below, the result is an elegant design that compliments and enhances the supporting decor and is functional in how it displays information. Because they liked how the steel gray complimented the gold, our client decided that it should be used for both Tulsa and OKC events.
